IMMERSE is an English immersion program that focuses on three key components to English improvement: diagnostic assessment, customized private lessons, and practical application. To begin, we first give our clients a diagnostic assessment by one of our language experts. From this test, we assess a student’s strengths and weaknesses in the English language that helps us develop a customized teaching plan. Every teaching plan includes tailored coursework and application activities. We believe learning a new language is most effective with active engagement that reinforces and expounds upon existing knowledge. In IMMERSE, students will not be confined to learning grammar in a classroom all day. Instead, we take a two-pronged approach that combines relevant course material with active engagement. The material both in and outside of the classroom is customized to each client and his or her English needs. With our English immersion method, learning English is not only enjoyable, but it also allows each client to experience the charming Greenville, South Carolina.
Our language evaluation expert conducts one-on-one diagnostic assessments in person or by webcam (e.g., Skype) with clients to determine their precise English level and identify their needs and weaknesses.
If clients wish to come to Greenville for a customized English immersion program, Immerse staff and teachers then use the results of the diagnostic assessment and the student survey to design their programs.
Customized Private Lessons
When a client comes to Greenville for IMMERSE, a team of highly experienced instructors work together, taking turns teaching one-on-one lessons in their areas of expertise.
These customized private lessons might focus on communication techniques, listening strategies, vocabulary building, cultural knowledge, grammar, pronunciation, idioms and cross-cultural etiquette.
Lesson locations include office settings and public places such as cafes and libraries.
Practice & Apply
Once a client has acquired some new English knowledge, it’s time to practice!
Teachers arrange opportunities in the Greenville area for students to speak and listen to native English speakers in real-life situations.
Activities could include meals in restaurants or private homes, shopping, meetings with local businesspeople, culinary or history tours, baseball or hockey games, concerts, art museums or other cultural events.
